About Shurastra

Shurastra is a Los Angeles-based record producer, artist, and DJ whose work blurs the lines between electronic, pop, and house; rooted not in genre, but in feeling. Born and raised in India, his sound reflects a global journey shaped by risk, belief, and a refusal to follow the expected path.

With a background in computer engineering and a self-built foundation in music, Shurastra's process merges technical precision with raw, human storytelling. While he avoids being boxed into any one genre, his work continues to explore rhythm, movement, and sound that connects.

In recent years, he's shared stages with artists like W&W and Nucleya, and received early support from renowned artists including Mariana Bo. His debut EP, ~8808 miles, marks a pivotal moment: a deeply personal body of work tracing his path from a small village house in India to a sound shaped by culture, curiosity, and recent creative influences in Los Angeles.

"'Shur' means brave. 'Astra' means weapon," he explains. "That's what music is for me — A way to speak honestly. A way to grow, connect, and keep going."
